This is going to be another giveaway.

I wanted to say something really insightful about dreams when I posted this. I wanted to tell anyone that reads this to follow your dreams or dream big. I wanted to be encouraging and kind. For some reason, none of the things I wanted to say will flow off my fingertips.

There are many different kinds of dreams. There are the kind that happen when you fall asleep. There are dream jobs, dream homes, dream weddings, dream cars and dream dates. There are the kind of dreams that are more like goals. There are the kind of dreams that resemble wishes. There are good dreams and bad dreams.

The subject of dreams is a pretty broad topic.

Maybe I should just post a drawing and say..

Dream.

Nice post. Although, the subject is prone, she appears to be about to levitate at any moment. Great capture! - Nards

Thanks for the compliments. I really love sleeping poses. When I see a good one, I have to give it a try.
So defined and grounded...the lines, shadows and depth

You mention the dreams but when I see the piece I see sadness. I guess I would have to see a larger version and analyze it better. I have so little "artsy" stuff in me that I don't always trust my eyes. There is so much more there and I probably just can't see it.

It is an amazing piece, captivating and powerful. It reminds me of a piece a friend of mine once painted of herself and hung in her room. Perhaps that is why I am associating yours with sadness? I don't know. What do you think?

I think it may be a combination of both. Just like in writing, the meaning of one word will invoke a feeling while another word that means basically the same thing will invoke quite another meaning.

In this case, the monochromatic often lends itself to be taken more "seriously". Think about how you view black and white photo's vs color photo's.

The other sensation that I am just now catching onto is how fast or slow the eye moves around an object.

When you add all that to the third element - your viewers personal symbolism - it creates something like this.

Thanks for looking. I hope to have something fun up soon!
